Fatal Semi-Truck Accident in Allen, Texas
The Texas Law Dog
On Tuesday, September 19, a vehicle collision in Allen, Texas, resulted in a semi-truck flying off a U.S. 75 overpass. The truck driver, whose identity has not been revealed, did not survive the crash.
Investigation into the Accident
The truck was traveling north on the highway when it collided with another vehicle near the intersection of 75 and Stacy Road. Dash camera footage from a witness provided to WFAA showed the 18-wheeler engulfed in flames as it flipped over the barrier, fell from the highway, and landed upside down on the street below.
Bystanders and police had difficulty reaching the truck driver due to the heat from the flames. The other driver involved in the crash did not sustain any injuries and is currently cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation. However, details remain unclear about the accident, and authorities continue to seek witnesses.
Some evidence, including letters and packages that spilled from the vehicle, suggests that the tractor-trailer belonged to the United States Postal Agency. USPS has yet to confirm whether the driver was one of its employees.
