Matt is a Hopkins County native as he grew up on a farm in the East Texas Town of Sulphur Springs, Texas. As a boy, a strong work ethic was instilled in him. He tended animals, ran tractors, hauled hay, and was a general farm hand. He was drawn to entrepreneurship in high school when he started his own lawn service. Later, he worked his way through college as a car salesman. As a licensed insurance agent who owned multiple insurance agencies prior to opening his law firm, Matt experienced first-hand how insurance companies handle claims. He did not believe that his insurance clients were being treated fairly by insurance companies when they had claims. He became a lawyer to fight for fair settlements from insurance companies for injured victims.
He lives in Colleyville with his wife Alison, son Asher, and their Labradoodles Derby and Maple.
