Fatal Collision Kills Woman and Infant in Cleburne, Texas

On Wednesday, September 21, a vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 171 and County Road 310A south resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman and a 5-month-old infant. The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the fatal crash.

Investigation into the Accident

Emergency responders, including Cleburne FD and PD, Johnson County DPS, and Johnson County sheriff’s deputies, quickly arrived at the scene of the two-vehicle accident. Officials claimed the SUV failed to yield right of way at a stop sign. As the car pulled out from County Road 310A onto Highway 171, it was hit by a commercial truck.

The 23-year-old driver of the SUV, as well as the 5-month-old were both pronounced dead at the scene. The infant had been restrained in a car seat. Two other passengers, including a 55-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child, were taken to nearby hospitals in Fort Worth to be treated for severe injuries. The driver of the commercial truck did not sustain any serious harm.
